Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Junior Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on system integration, wiring, and control design, offering opportunities to work on innovative projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and integrating electrical systems to meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Design: Develop wiring schematics, electrical layouts, and control system designs tailored to project specifications.
- System Integration: Support the integration of electrical components and systems with mechanical and software elements.
- Prototyping and Assembly: Assist with wiring, assembly, and testing of prototype systems.
- Testing and Debugging: Conduct testing to evaluate performance, troubleshoot issues, and refine designs.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive design and integration documentation for all projects.
- Compliance: Ensure designs meet relevant safety standards and project specifications.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or related field).
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, including control systems, wiring, and circuit design.
- Hands-on experience with electrical integration and wiring techniques.
- Familiarity with embedded systems is highly desirable.
- Experience with electronic design software (e.g., Altium, Eagle, or similar) is a plus but not required.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience, including internships or co-op placements.
- Desirable experience in any of the following areas:
- System integration in complex projects.
- Design for harsh environments .

Salmon aquaculture produces a healthy, nutritious, low carbon footprint animal protein and this industry can support a healthier planet, lower carbon economy and climate change via a dietary shift away from high carbon animal proteins. The main salmon producing regions of the world are: Norway, Chile, Scotland, Canada, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Tasmania, New Zealand, and Ireland. However, the sea louse, a regulated pest is the #1 biological obstacle preventing the industry from growing.
