About Konree Innovation
Headquartered in Ireland, in culturally vibrant Galway city at the ATU iHub, Konree Innovation is developing technology-based pest management solutions for salmon aquaculture, initially targeting sea lice.
Salmon aquaculture produces a healthy, nutritious, low carbon footprint animal protein and this industry can support a healthier planet, lower carbon economy and climate change via a dietary shift away from high carbon animal proteins. The main salmon producing regions of the world are: Norway, Chile, Scotland, Canada, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Tasmania, New Zealand, and Ireland. However, the sea louse, a regulated pest is the #1 biological obstacle preventing the industry from growing.
Galway-based Konree Innovation is an exciting startup in the aquaculture technology area. Our aspiration is to make a global impact by helping solve one of the most persistent problems in salmonid aquaculture, the sea louse. By doing so, we will play our part in helping to transition planetary food production from high carbon footprint animal proteins toward a much lower one and ultimately playing a part in Climate Action.
