Last month, Konree Innovation’s own Isa Woulfe joined the Marine Institute staff at the renowned Lehanagh Pool Marine Research Site for a hands-on visit, focusing on health inspections for Lepeophtheirus salmonis on smolt salmon. This cutting-edge research site, located in the west of Ireland, is a hub of scientific progress, featuring facilities for Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) and various other environmental studies.
During the visit, Isa Woulfe participated in sampling activities and explored how Konree’s innovative device, which targets L. salmonis without disturbing the salmon, could integrate seamlessly in a commercial salmon farm. Lehenagh Pool’s advanced infrastructure, including advanced rearing structures and a comprehensive data-buoy system for environmental monitoring, underscores Ireland’s commitment to leading in marine technology and sustainable aquaculture practices.
Our collaboration with the Marine Institute’s highlights the commitment to advancing water quality. The Lehenagh Pool site provides a unique environment for testing and validating new technologies, ensuring the highest standards of marine health and environmental sustainability.
